LET’S DO THIS!! – BLOGUST DAY 1

Blogust Header

Alright, so I’m going to do it – I’m committing to Blogust! I’m not even sure if people still do this anymore, as I don’t really follow many blogs… but oh well. I know if I didn’t do it, I would end up regretting it, especially since I’ve been able to complete it for the last two years and it always felt like such a big accomplishment. I could use a win like that right now, so I am going to put myself in the game. I even made a cute little banner (my graphic designer is showing), as you’ll see at the top of the post. Hey, you have to make things fun to keep you motivated! Haha!

UPDATE… AND BLOGUST??

Hey there!

Long time, no write. It's been so long since I've written an actual blog post, it feels weird. I've only written like four blog posts for 2017 so far, and none of them were really even that substantial. The truth is I haven't been writing much of anything lately, not even in my journal, but I think it's time to break this pattern I've found myself trapped in for the last six months. So if you're up for it, settle in and get ready for a mondo update. I have a feeling it's going to be long and a little bit all over the place. Life has been crazy lately and I have a lot of feelings just clawing their way out. Continue reading

Movie Monday – Me Before You

Alright, I FINALLY was able to see the movie Me Before You. I was waiting for it to either go to Netflix or air on one of the movie channels because I was unsure if I was going to like it, so I didn’t want to buy it. But last week it was released on Amazon Prime Video and I was finally able to watch it. If you haven’t yet already, please check out my book review on Me Before You by Jojo Moyes that I posted last year. Even if you did read it at the time, it may be a good idea to re-read it as it has been a long time.

SUMMER MOVIE GUIDE 2017

It’s my favorite time of year (well of the first half of the year anyway) — SUMMER MOVIE SEASON!

Just as I have done for the past three years, today I will be sharing some of the movies that will be coming out this summer. I don’t really go to the theater anymore because it’s so loud and the theaters around here have their wheelchair seating toward the front of the theater. I mean, who wants to crane their neck up at a giant screen for two hours?? So I tend to wait until movies are released on digital, or maybe even Blu-ray if I’m feeling particularly patient. But for the past year or so, I’ve pretty much stuck to digital.

If you haven’t yet, check out previous year’s Summer Movie Guides:

Movie Monday – Star Wars: Rogue One

In honor of Star Wars: Rogue One coming out on digital this Friday (March 24), I thought that I would finally get around to writing the Movie Monday for it. If you’re not into digital versions of movies, not to worry, Rogue One will be released on Blu-ray and DVD on Tuesday April 4th.

I’m not sure if I have said this before on here (😉… duh of course I have), but I am a super duper, major Star Wars fan. In 2015, I missed being able to see The Force Awakens in theaters, but was determined to see Rogue One. Even though I am not a big fan of going to the theaters anymore since I startle so easily, and there are times where I can even get injured from being startled. So if I can avoid that, I usually do. And movie theaters love to have their volumes up so. freaking. loud. So every little noise is magnified, and it just becomes unbearable. Secondly, I hate where they have the wheelchair seating. All but one theater that I know of around my neck of the woods have their wheelchair seating toward the front of the room. This means I don’t have the greatest view and I have to lean my head back for two hours. Not ideal. Anyway, moving on.
